FELIPE VI THEATER ESTEPONA

Guitarist dani casares concert

The City Council organizes two solidarity concerts with the guitarist Daniel Casares and the singer Ana Fargas at the Felipe VI Auditorium

The Daniel Casares concert will be next Friday, October 2, and the funds will go to Aprona.

The performance of Ana Fargas and her flamenco combo will take place on Saturday, October 17, and the proceeds will go to Estepona Solidaria.

The Estepona City Council has organized two solidarity concerts in the Felipe VI Auditorium that will raise funds for the Aprona and Estepona Solidaria associations. The two planned performances will be starred by two of the most popular local artists: guitarist Daniel Casares and cantaora Ana Fargas.

The first of the concerts will be that of Daniel Casares next Friday, October 2, at 9:00 p.m. The guitarist will present the songs from his latest album 'Guitarrísimo', the eighth of his successful career. In this work, Casares offers a set of unpublished compositions, devoid of the instrumental arrangements and costumes that characterized his previous albums. The artist, who has composed all these pieces in our city, reflects in this album on the marginalization that he considers guitar to suffer in Spanish cultural circuits.

Daniel Casares was born in 1980 and very soon, at age 8, he began his career in music. At age 16 he became the youngest guitarist to win the prestigious Bordón Minero de La Unión. From there came more awards, recognitions and tours around the world. He has lived in Brazil and New York and has drank from other music and cultures, always with the inspiration of the teachers Paco de Lucía and Camarón as maximum references.

The entire proceeds from the Daniel Casares concert will go to the Estepona Association in Favor of People with Functional Diversity (Aprona).

The second of the concerts will be that of the singer Ana Fargas and her flamenco combo and will take place on Saturday, October 17, at 8.30 pm. The cantaora will be accompanied on stage by Paco Javier Jimeno on guitar and clapping by Carlos Grilo and Diego Montoya. Fargas will present his latest show 'Canción Flamenca', directed by Paco Javier Jimeno.

It is the first time that Ana Fargas and Paco Javier Jimeno face a show with a repertoire not composed by themselves, since most of the songs will be based on songs by other artists. After years of complicity of both artists, their long professional career and their tastes for other musical genres, they have wanted to make this new proposal.

The singer considers it to be a "simple, but moving and exciting show, where we can find the power of music and knowing how to listen."

The proceeds from the Ana Fargas concert will go entirely to the 'Estepona Solidaria' association, whose volunteers serve the most vulnerable residents throughout the year.

The ticket price for each of the concerts is 15 euros. They can be purchased in advance on the Felipe VI Auditorium website www.tafestepona.com or at the venue box office on the day of the performance, from two hours before the start of the show.
