Queen and ladies of the cancelada fair 2026 - registration
The deadline for the election of Queens and Ladies of the Cancelada Fair is now open.
Those interested in representing Cancelada at this event, which will be held from August 20 to 23, can submit their applications from May 6 to 29.
The Estepona Town Hall announces that the application period for the selection of Queens and Ladies-in-Waiting for the Cancelada Fair, which will be held from August 20 to 23, opens tomorrow, August 6. Those interested can register until May 29.
The deputy mayor for the outlying areas, Begoña Ortiz, has indicated that participants must be registered residents of Estepona and provide a photocopy of their national identity card (DNI) if they are over 18 and participating in the youth category. Family members of minors must provide a copy of their family book if they do not have an identity document, as well as a contact telephone number.
Applications from applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by authorizations from their parents or legal guardians and signed by both parents.
Two categories are offered: Children's, for girls aged 6 to 12 (born between 2014 and 2020), and Youth, for young women aged 16 to 21 (born between 2005 and 2010). Those who have been crowned queen in previous years in the same category are not eligible to participate in this competition.
The child candidates will be chosen by lottery, as explained by the municipal official.
The selection of the Cancelada court will take place on June 12th at 9:00 PM on Montemayor Street. The court will consist of a Queen and three ladies-in-waiting in each category.
Participation involves attending rehearsals and events related to this competition. Once selected, participants will sign a participation agreement.
The chosen queens and ladies will also be the queens and ladies of the San Isidro festivities in Cancelada, which will be held on May 1, 2027.
The children's and youth queens will end their reigns the following year with the coronation of the queens and ladies of the Cancelada Fair and Festivals 2027.
Participation will imply acceptance of the taking of photographs/television images and their dissemination that these acts entail within the programs of the Cancelada Fair and the San Isidro Pilgrimage 2027.
