The Estepona City Council informs that the Argentine artist Sebastián Machinea will present the individual exhibition 'Parallel Universes', next Thursday, May 12, at 6:00 p.m., in Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores .
The exhibition includes 18 works of different formats, and can be visited until May 25, from Tuesday to Friday, from 09:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 09:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m. and 04:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free access.
Sebastian Machinea began painting from an early age, choosing craft and painting workshops at school in his native Patagonia. He attended various painting workshops where he came into contact with oil, brushes and spatulas, developing a series of still lifes, landscapes and flowers.
In 2014, at the age of 25, he decided to start studying fine arts, where he continued polishing his technique and made contact for the first time with acrylic, a material that accompanies him to this day.
He works with engraving and sculpture, while participating in numerous contemporary art workshops, among which Carolina Antoniadis stands out. This allows him to find his pictorial poetics, linking his landscapes from his native land with figures from the history of art, generating new relationships in unpublished environments. Steppes of southern Argentina intervened with figurines of El Bosco, Bruegel, or Candido López, among others.
He makes numerous individual and group exhibitions, arousing the interest of colleagues and critics around his work, so particular.
His current art preserves the features developed in the workshops, incorporating references to the imaginary and the paranormal, manifesting it in his series Geister, Abduction and Memories, where he plays with emotions, interrogations, the inexplicable, what he considers cannot go unnoticed. for the viewer.
In contrast, his series of gardens and landscapes reflect his enthusiasm and curiosity for nature, the organic and the figurative.
