HOUSE OF THE TEJERINAS ESTEPONA

Exhibition of collages 'paper circles' by marga guinea

The opening of the exhibition will take place on September 24, at 7:00 p.m., and can be visited until October 8

The Estepona City Council informs that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next Thursday 24, at 7:00 p.m., the exhibition of the last collage works of the visual artist Marga Guinea, under the title 'Circles of paper'.

This exhibition will be made up of a total of 18 works of medium and large format, of a different style, full of landscapes and "living natures". In her work, the artist uses certain guidelines, such as the reuse of materials, the pleasure of changing the history of the characters of great world works, humor and the use of paper and scissors to criticize the injustices that humans commit.

The exhibition can be visited until October 8 from Tuesday to Friday, from 08:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, with free access. Closed Monday.

Margarita Guinea García (Madrid in 1965). As a child, she visited and learned about the works of great artists in the history of art, and soon after she moved to Algeciras, where she studied at the School of Art. Although at the beginning of his artistic activity we can affirm that his greatest reference was the world of comics, he would soon move on to works on canvas, oil, and easel, where new aspects of his artistic concerns would begin to emerge.

Years later, and due in part to his interest in the field of decoration and crafts, he would lead his artistic production towards collage, where the contrast and continuous interplay of colors is observed, where the warmth of the whole is mixed with cold secondary scenes, but also with figures, proportions or spaces.

What really captures our attention is the use of classic images with which it is capable of showing absolute contemporaneity.
