In this exhibition we will have the opportunity to delve into the particular world of one of the most universal artists of the 20th century, Salvador Dalí. Through a hundred creations, one of the fathers of surrealism, takes us through the Paradise, Purgatory and Hell of Dante's Divine Comedy.
The edition that we present consists of one hundred original woodcuts on paper. Published in Paris, a total of 3,500 xylographic blocks were needed, one for each color and 35 for each of the hundred watercolors that Salvador Dalí had made. Dalí's profound knowledge of Dante's writings stands out, giving these illustrations the characteristic surrealist and classic vision of the artist.
