The International Ballet Company of Moldova presents 'Sleeping Beauty' at the Felipe VI Auditorium
The Moldovan company will represent the famous work by Tchaikovsky next Saturday, May 21, at 6:00 p.m.
Estepona City Council informs that the Moldavian International Ballet Company will present the classical ballet work 'Sleeping Beauty', by Tchaikovsky, with choreography by M. Petipa and Lev Ivanov at the Felipe VI Auditorium. It will be next Saturday, May 21, at 6:00 p.m.
The Moldovan company was created by award-winning and acclaimed Moldovan soloists Cristina and Alexei Terentiev, and is made up of soloists from Moldova and Italy among other countries. The work and effort dedicated for a long time have made this project culminate in a company where a refined technique and an excellent dramatic interpretation give life to the best-known choreographies and scores of classical ballet.
Synopsis : In the court of King Florestan, the christening of Princess Aurora is celebrated. The Lilac Fairy and other fairies have been invited, except for the Fairy Carabosse, whom Cantalabutte, the master of ceremonies, has forgotten to invite. Outraged, Carabosse performs an evil spell, "When the Princess turns 16, she will prick herself with the needle of a spinning wheel and sleep for 100 years." The curse is broken when the Lilac Fairy tells Prince Desiré what happened and he kisses Aurora. To celebrate the wedding between Aurora and Desiré, happy festivities are prepared where characters from well-known stories will dance.
