HOUSE OF THE TEJERINAS ESTEPONA

Manuel perdiguero expo

The Estepona City Council informs that the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next Friday, November 26, at 6:00 p.m., an exhibition of ceramic reproductions of classical Greece made by Manuel Perdiguero.

The professor and archaeologist from Malaga (1945) will show a set of pottery reproductions from the classical Greek period of the 8th-5th centuries BC that he himself makes and paints by hand, consisting of a total of 45 pieces of various types, made using the techniques of black figures and red figures.

Since 1990, Manuel Perdiguero has exhibited similar creations on a dozen occasions in different spaces in the capital Malaga and other cities in the province. The artist's motive, according to himself, is “the interest, on the one hand, to approach the knowledge of the pottery-making process of those historical containers that he investigates and, on the other, the personal tendency towards everything he owns, as a manifestation aesthetics, harmony in its proportions (case of classical Greek vases) ”. All this led him to make the ceramic pieces that make up the collection that he presents in Estepona, among which are containers such as skiffs, urns, olpes, oinocoes, kylixes, amphorae and craters, among others.

This exhibition can be visited until December 8 from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free access.
